How to Quit Zyn

Editorial guide. Evident doesn't sell nicotine products.
Zyn is a nicotine pouch. In January 2025 it became the first nicotine pouch to receive FDA marketing authorization (USA Today). Authorization doesn't make nicotine non-addictive. If you want to stop, these steps reflect standard public-health quit guidance.
Steps
- Pick a quit date within the next two weeks and tell someone.
- Track your pattern. When and why do you reach for a pouch (after meals, while driving, while working)?
- Taper or stop. Some people step down to lower-strength pouches before stopping. Others quit at once. Either can work.
- Use free support. Call 1-800-QUIT-NOW or visit Smokefree.gov. Ask a clinician about FDA-approved nicotine replacement therapy (patch, gum, lozenge) or other medications. Resources: CDC Tips.
- Replace the ritual. Many people miss the habit of having something in their mouth as much as the nicotine. Sugar-free gum, mints, or nicotine-free pouches can fill that gap.
- Expect withdrawal (irritability, cravings, trouble concentrating) to peak early and fade. Plan for it.
Where nicotine-free caffeine pouches fit
Nicotine-free caffeine pouches (Wip, MOJO, GRINDS and others) mimic the format without nicotine. They aren't a quit-smoking treatment, and caffeine has its own limits. If you use them, watch the caffeine: some pouches contain 100–200 mg each. See Are Caffeine Pouches Safe? and Nicotine-Free Energy Pouches.
FAQ
Is there a Zyn alternative without nicotine? Yes, several caffeine and coffee pouches state they're nicotine-free. They help with the ritual, not with nicotine withdrawal.
