Is mouth taping safe if I have mild sleep apnea?
Answered by Evident Team· 2 months ago
This is one we take seriously. For mild sleep apnea that does not require CPAP therapy, some users report benefits from mouth taping — nasal breathing can help maintain airway tone. However, we strongly recommend consulting your sleep specialist before trying it. Mouth taping should never replace prescribed CPAP therapy. If you have moderate-to-severe OSA, mouth taping is not appropriate. Our eligibility criteria for the Evident Sleep Study specifically excludes anyone with untreated sleep apnea requiring CPAP.
