I have a beard — will mouth tape actually work for me?

It can, but you'll need to choose the right tape. Standard tapes struggle with facial hair because the adhesive can't make full contact with skin. A few approaches work: (1) apply tape to the bare skin of your lips and chin rather than over beard hair, (2) use a tape with stronger medical adhesive designed for textured surfaces, or (3) trim the area directly around your lips. In our testing, Sleep Karma and Hostage Tape worked best on light-to-medium stubble. Full beards are genuinely challenging for all brands.
