Viory Mouth Tape Review 2026 — Too Aggressive on Removal

Viory holds strong but removal is uncomfortable and aggressive. The synthetic fabric can trap heat. It's the opposite problem of Hush Strips — too much adhesion, not enough comfort.

Viory goes too far in the other direction — while it holds all night, the removal experience is uncomfortably aggressive. Combined with a synthetic fabric that can trap heat, we can't recommend it when better-balanced options exist.

Holds Strong, Hurts to Remove

Viory mouth tape uses a synthetic non-woven fabric — the same material family as Dryft Sleep, ShhTape, and Hush Strips. But unlike Hush Strips (which errs on the side of too gentle), Viory goes too far the other way. The adhesive is strong — almost too strong.

In our testing, Viory consistently stayed in place all night, which is great. But the removal experience was not. Tapes like Hostage Tape, Viory, and Goodnight Tape felt too aggressive on the mouth. That's not a tradeoff we're willing to accept when other tapes nail the balance perfectly.

The Synthetic Problem

Viory's synthetic fabric doesn't breathe as well as rayon/bamboo alternatives. For people who sleep warm or in humid environments, this can lead to discomfort and even skin breakouts. The fabric also doesn't manage moisture well, which compounds the aggressive adhesive issue.

Finding the Right Balance

The ideal mouth tape holds firmly all night but removes easily in the morning. It's a delicate balance, and Viory misses it. Sleep Karma, PapMD, and Awwawe all achieve strong overnight hold with comfortable, residue-free removal — using breathable rayon fabric instead of synthetics.

The Bottom Line

Viory gets one thing right (hold strength) but gets too much else wrong. The aggressive removal and heat-trapping synthetic fabric make for an uncomfortable overall experience. We recommend looking at rayon-based tapes that deliver the same hold strength with much better comfort.
