Adellina® positions itself as a simple, affordable solution for better sleep. Cute branding and a functional design. But how does it hold up in real-world use? We tested it across multiple nights to find out. We liked Adellina mouth tape.
The tape delivers solid performance at an affordable price. The tape holds firm overnight and noticeably improves sleep quality, but it’s let down by a slightly harsh adhesive that may cause discomfort with extended use. While not the softest or most breathable option, it’s a really strong performer for short-term or occasional use. Adellina supplied a testing certificate to confirm testing they'd done on material toxicity.
We love that Adellina provided evidence for their independent skin testing. The tape performed well in our testing in key areas like sleep quality, overnight hold, and ease of application. But extended use revealed some drawbacks: the adhesive, while strong, left behind a bit of residue, and the narrower design didn’t create as confident a seal as wider tapes. We think it's a solid option.
Pros:
Excellent overnight hold
Noticeable sleep improvement
Easy to apply and line up
Verified safe materials
Cons:
Adhesive may cause mild skin discomfort
Narrower shape doesn’t fully seal the mouth
Adellina came 2nd place in our 25-product review, scoring points for its strong overnight hold, simple design, and noticeable impact on sleep quality. It’s a no-frills tape that does the job—especially if you’re taping for the first time and want something affordable to try. The adhesive was certainly on the strong side, leaving lips a little tender and some sticky residue behind. While the narrower shape didn’t fully seal the mouth as confidently as larger designs, it still promoted solid nasal breathing. Adellina is a great tape for occasional use.

Mouth taping shows genuine promise for certain sleep-related benefits, especially reducing snoring and mild obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), but evidence from large-scale clinical trial is still on the limited side. A few smaller clinical studies have been conducted, and many of their results do support core mouth taping claims. In short: Initial research supports mouth taping benefits (including, improving sleep, reducing snoring, reducing sleep apnea-related wake ups, etc.)

Sleep Karma is our favorite mouth tape, based on 100% transparent research & testing. #1 of 25 products evaluated.
After thoroughly testing 23 different mouth tapes, Sleep Karma stands out in every way. First, the materials are best-in-class: most importantly, the adhesive is certified non-toxic, hypoallergenic, and skin-safe, meeting ISO-10993-1 biocompatibility standards. The fabric itself is ultra-premium organic bamboo silk — breathable, buttery-soft, and a dream to wear overnight. We also love the performance: the tape stays firmly in place all night, but peels off easily and gently in the morning (without leaving any yucky residue on your lips). The size and shape are another win — the full-coverage design keeps the mouth securely closed (and for beginners, they also offer "slim strips" which go vertically across the lips). Sleep Karma goes above and beyond by including monthly free gifts, such as a stunning bamboo night stand and bamboo travel case (with a subscription) and 24/7 access to a team of sleep coaches. All of this comes at a price that's right in line with most competitors — around $0.83 per night for dramatically better sleep.
